Devices getting iOS 14

On the first day of its annual developer conference WWDC 2020, Apple unveiled iOS 14. This is the latest smartphone OS by app and it will be available to several iPhone and iOS models. If you are interested in learning what are the new features coming with iOS 14, you should our previous article about iOS 14.

If I summarise, key new features include Home screen & interface changes, App Library, Picture in picture mode, redesigned Siri, Translation app, upgrades to Messages app, updated Maps, CarKey and more.

In this article, I am putting a list of devices that will get iOS 14 when it will be available. Apple confirmed that iOS 14 will be available on iPhone 6s and later. This is the same as iOS 13. Check the list of devices.

  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8 Plus
  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPhone SE (1st generation)
  • iPhone SE (2nd generation)
  • iPod touch (7th generation)

iOS 14 will be available later this year with the launch of next-gen iPhone models. It should be sometime in September.

If you see the release dates of the previous 5 iOS releases, all were in mid-September. We can expect the same for iOS 14. The first developer beta of iOS 14 is now available. If you are a developer, you can join Apple’s beta program and give it a try. There will also be public betas for Apple fans to try the iOS 14 before the table release.
