Vivo is set to launch its latest phone Vivo X50 at an event scheduled on June 1. The launch event could see the launch of three smartphones including X50, X50 Lite, and X50 Pro.
One of the teaser videos shows off the camera module with a periscope telephoto camera along with two normal camera lenses. The Periscope camera features a rotating lens. The rotating lens feels like chameleons’ eyes. This type of camera was introduced in Apex 2020 but we couldn’t actually feel it due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The company claims that this setup is 200 percent more effective than typical OIS allowing longer nighttime exposures and smoother video. Vivo X50 is the first commercial phone to feature this setup.
In another video, the company teases impressive low-light photography. The video caption says “micro-gimbal super-sensing night shot.” The micro-gimbal technology has improved the shutter level for longer exposure. So, the camera can capture a larger amount of incoming light to offer better low-light photos.
A few reports also suggest that the phone could feature recently launched Samsung’s new ISOCELL GN1 sensor. Vivo product manager posted about a sensor on Weibo highlighting specs. He boasted that the camera sensor is able to output 100MP images. The specs match with the specs of the ISOCELL GN1 sensor.
The phone will also have a punch-hole selfie camera. We do not know about phone’s specifications but I expect more leaks and teasers before the official launch.
