The PlayStation 4 has become the second best-selling Sony console. In the latest earnings report, Sony has confirmed that it has sold 110.4 million units of PlayStation 4 over its lifetime.

Sony shipped 13.6 million units of PlayStation 4 in FY2019/20 that is down from 17.8m in the prior year. The company sold 1.5 million in the last financial quarter, down from the 2.6 million machines during the same period last year.

PlayStation 4 was launched back in 2013 and the successor PlayStation 5 is set to release later this year. This could be the reason why the sales of PlayStation 4 is now slowing down.

Subscription of PlayStation Plus has also gone up by hitting 41.5 million by March 31, 2020.

PlayStation 2 is still the best selling Sony Console and Sony sold around 155 million units of it. Now when PS 5 launch is near, PS 4 is unlikely to pass PS2’s milestone.
