OnePlus 8 with 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display, Snapdragon 865 announced

OnePlus has just announced its latest flagship smartphone OnePlus 8 at an online launch event.

OnePlus 8 features a 6.55-inch Full HD+ Fluid AMOLED display with a hole-punch at the top left corner. The display has a 90Hz refresh rate and is HDR10+ rated. The display has 4096 levels of auto-brightness control and has A+ Display rating from DisplayMate. There’s a 3D Corning Gorilla Glass protection to protect the display from scratches.

The phone runs on Android 10 with OxygenOS 10.0 at top. It packs 2.84GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 865 processor with Adreno 650 GPU. There’s also X55 5G modem and it supports both NSA and SA 5G. It comes in two Ram Storage models including 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone comes with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.0 storage.

OnePlus 8 features a triple camera setup that includes 48 megapixels primary camera with Sony IMX586 sensor, OIS + EIS Hybrid stabilization along with 16 megapixels 116° ultra-wide camera and 2 megapixels macro camera. It supports 4K video at 60 fps, 720p slow motion at 480fps, and 1080p slow motion at 240fps. It comes with 16 megapixels selfie camera with Sony IMX471 sensor and EIS.

OnePlus 8

There’s an In-display fingerprint sensor. It is also IP68 rated for being dust and water resistant.

It has Dual Stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos for good audio experience. The phone also supports USB Type-C audio as it lacks headphone jack.

Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ax 2X2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS (L1+L5 Dual Band) + GLONASS, and USB Type-C. OnePlus 8 packs 4300mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T fast charging. OnePlus claims that it can be charged from 1% to 50% in just 22 minutes.

OnePlus 8 starts at $699 for 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version. The 12GB RAM with 256GB storage version costs $799. It will be sold in the US and North America from April 29th. The phone will also be available in Europe and UK from April 21st starting at £599 with pre-orders starting today.

OnePlus has confirmed that the phone will be available in India this summer without revealing the pricing details.
