Motorola announces Motorola Edge+ and Motorola Edge Smartphones

Motorola Edge+ and Edge

Motorola just announced two 5G flagship phones Motorola Edge+ and Motorola Edge in an online event. Both the phones look similar from the front but differ in specs. These phones are called Edge because of the “Endless Edge” display.

Motorola Edge+

Motorola Edge+ features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED HDR10 + display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The display has a hole-punch at the top left corner for the selfie camera. There’s also an under-display fingerprint sensor.

It packs Octa-Core Snapdragon 865 7nm processor with Adreno 650 GPU. There are 12GB LPPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. Motorola Edge+ runs on Android 10 with My UX that comes with a few customizations including all Moto Experiences.

Motorola Edge+

It has a triple camera setup that includes 108 megapixels primary camera with / 1.33″ Samsung sensor, f/1.8 aperture, OIS, Laser autofocus along with 16 megapixels, f/1.8 aperture, OIS, Laser autofocus camera and 8 megapixels telephoto camera with OIS for 3x optical zoom. This setup can record 6k at 30fps and 4k at 60fps. It has a 25 megapixels selfie camera.

The phone comes with Stereo speakers and supports USB Type-C audio. Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ax (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS (L1 + L5), NFC, and USB Type-C. It packs

Motorola Edge+ packs 5000mAh battery with support to 18W wired and 15W wireless fast charging. It also supports 5W wireless reverse charging.

Motorola Edge

Motorola Edge also features the same 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED HDR10 + display with a 90Hz refresh rate and runs on the same Android 10. This phone packs slightly less powerful octa-core Snapdragon 765G 7nm Soc with Adreno 620 GPU. Motorola Edge comes with 4GB or 6GB RAM with 128GB UFS 2.1 storage.

It has a triple camera setup that includes 64 megapixels rear camera with LED flash, f/1.9 aperture, Laser autofocus along with 16 megapixels 117° ultra-wide-angle camera and 8 megapixels telephoto lens for 3x optical zoom. There’s also a ToF module. The phone features a 25 megapixels selfie camera.

It has an in-display fingerprint sensor. This phone also features a stereo speaker and USB-C audio. Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C.

Motorola Edge packs 4500mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

Motorola has also promised the Android 11 update to both the phones when it will be available.

Motorola Edge+ and Motorola Edge Pricing

Motorola Edge+ will be exclusive to Verzion in the US. It costs $1,000 but it will cost €1,199 in Europe. Motorola Edge starts at €599 in Europe and will hit US later.

Motorola has confirmed that these phones will be coming to India soon and pricing will be confirmed at the time of launch.
