Samsung announces Galaxy S20 series with 120GHz Display, high-end performance, and 5G connectivity

Samsung just announced its latest models in its flagship series of smartphones. These phones are Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra.

These devices come with the same Infinity-O Display but differ in display sizes. The Galaxy S20 features a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display, Galaxy S20+ has 6.7-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display and the Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with 6.9-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display. Displays in all the devices are HDR10+ certified and support a 120Hz refresh rate.

These phones pack Qualcomm 865 or Exynos 990 SoC depending on the market. You will get 8GB and 12GB RAM options with 128GB and 512GB storage. Storage is also expandable up to 1TB.

The Camera setup is also not the same in these models.

Galaxy S20 comes with a triple camera featuring 12 megapixels Ultra Wide Camera with f/2.2 aperture, 12 megapixels Wide-angle Camera with f/1.8 aperture and 64 megapixels Telephoto Camera with f/2.0 aperture. It offers 3x Hybrid Optic Zoom and up to 30x Super Resolution Zoom. It has 10 megapixels selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.

Galaxy S20

Galaxy S20+ comes with a Quad camera featuring 12 megapixels Ultra Wide Camera with f/2.2 aperture, 12 megapixels Wide-angle Camera with f/1.8 aperture, 64 megapixels Telephoto Camera with f/2.0 aperture and a DepthVision Camera. It offers 3x Hybrid Optic Zoom and up to 30x Super Resolution Zoom. It has 10 megapixels selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.

Galaxy S20 Plus

Galaxy S20 Ultra features a Quad camera that includes 12 megapixels Ultra Wide Camera with f/2.2 aperture, 108 megapixels Wide-angle Camera with f/1.8 aperture, 48 megapixels Telephoto Camera with f/2.0 aperture and a DepthVision Camera. This model offers 10x Hybrid Optic Zoom and up to 100x Super Resolution Zoom. This phone features a 40 megapixels selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.

Galaxy S20 Ultra

Galaxy S20 series smartphones can record 8K videos 24FPS and 4K UHD videos at 60 fps. They can also record Super Slow-mo 720p video at 960 fps.

BixBay is still there and can be activated using one of the side buttons. You can also app this button to different technologies. These phones run on Android 10 with OneUI 2.0. Samsung has also integrated Google Duo directly into Samsung’s UI. Duo option will be available in the dialer for making video calls. The device can deliver chat in full HD but it needs a good 5G connection on both sides.

All these models are IP68 rated for being Water and dust resistant. Samsung has included Ultrasonic under-display Fingerprint Sensor.

Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra feature Stereo speakers tuned by AKG and Dolby Atmos for good audio performance.

All three devices support 5G connectivity. Other connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax (2.4/5GHz), HE80, MIMO, 1024-QAM, Bluetooth 5, GPS with GLONASS, USB 3.1, NFC, and MST.

Galaxy S20 packs 4,000mAh, S20+ comes with 4,500mAh battery and Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with 5000 mAh battery. All three phones support 25W fast Charging both on wired and wireless charging. These phones also support Wireless PowerShare reverse charging.

Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra are priced at $999, $1,199 and $1,399, respectively.
