Redmi 8A Dual with Snapdragon 439, Dual Camera, 5000 mAh battery launched starting at Rs. 6499
Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has just launched a new budget phone Redmi 8A Dual in the Indian market. This is the successor to Redmi 8A but with slight improvements to take on recently launched Realme C3.
Redmi 8A Dual features a 6.22-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop-style notch. The phone runs on Android Pie with MIUI 10 on top.
The phone has Xiaomi’s Aura XGrip design that looks really beautiful. The phone comes in Sea Blue, Sky White, and Midnight Gray colors. The phone is Splash Resistant with P2i coating, Dimensions measure 156.48×75.41×9.4mm and it weighs 188g.
It packs 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC to offer good performance. The phone also has an Adreno 505 GPU. It comes in 2GB and 3GB RAM options. You get 32GB of storage with an option to expand storage up to 512GB with a microSD card.
The phone features a dual camera that includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The camera app features AI Scene Detection and AI Portrait Mode. It also has an 8 megapixels selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
The phone doesn’t come with a fingerprint sensor but has a face unlock.
Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n with VoWiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C. It packs 5000mAh (typical) battery with 18W fast charging. It also supports reverse charging.
The phone will be available from Amazon.in, Mi.com and Mi Home Stores starting from February 18th. The 2GB RAM variant is priced at Rs. 6499 and the 3GB RAM variant costs Rs. 6999.
