Now you have up to three cameras on the iPhone but you cannot use multiple cameras at the same time using the native camera app. There are a few pro apps that make it possible but now we found a free app for the same. DoubleTake by FiLMiC is a free app that lets you record from two iPhone cameras at the same time.

DoubleTake by FiLMiC supports multi-cam video recording but the support is limited, It supports only iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11, iPhone Xs Max, iPhone Xs, and iPhone XR. For all other iPhone models, it allows video recording from a single camera only.

I tried the app on iPhone 11 Pro and it lets me select two cameras from any of the three cameras and selfie cameras. So, I could record using an ultra-wide-angle and a telephoto camera at the same time.

The app can record in three different frame rates including 24fps, 25fps, and 30fps depending on your project need. It records 1080p video at a high bitrate. The video resolution limit is there because the 1080p video is the maximum resolution supported by Apple’s API for multi-cam capture. It can also record separate audio from the iPhone’s different mics.

You can save both videos as different files or single files playing both videos side by side or in PIP mode.

This kind of setup will surely be useful for content creators and vloggers. People who actively shoot for YouTube, Instagram and TikTok will surely love this.

The only disappointment is that you cannot use basic camera features like zoom. But I am sure these things will be added soon or you will be asked to Pay for more advanced options.
