For OnePlus, 2019 was about 90Hz display. OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro came with a 90Hz display that offers smoother fluid performance. Now the company has moved a step ahead and unveiled new minted display with a blazing 120Hz refresh rate. Pete also believes that this new display would be the best smartphone display in 2020.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said, “We believe that the smoothest smartphone display must also be able to deliver a superior visual quality and viewing comfort. We’re sure that OnePlus’s new 120Hz Fluid Display will be the best you’ll lay eyes on in 2020.”

The new display features MEMC technology for smoother video playback, QHD+ resolution, 4096-level of automatic brightness control and accurate colors.

With 120Hz display, scrolling on a phone becomes buttery smooth and gaming experience becomes even better.

It worth to note that OnePlus is not the first one to bring the 120Hz display. Razer’s first-generation, gaming-focused Razer Phone came with a 120Hz display. ROG Phone 2 also had a display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi also unveiled Redmi K30 with a 120Hz display last month. Samsung is also believed to launch the successor of Galaxy S10 with a 120Hz display next month.

OnePlus will use this display in its next flagship phone. Most probably the phone with 120Hz display will be OnePlus 8 Pro while the regular OnePlus 8 should still come with 90Hz display.
