We saw pop-up selfie camera, rotating selfie camera and punch hole selfie camera. A few smartphones camera with dual punch-hole design to offer dual selfie camera. Now Vivo is going a step ahead to add quad punch-hole setup.

Vivo’s patent application revealed a quad punch-hole design that has been granted to it by China National Intellectual Property Administration. Now when the company has the patents for these designs, it could launch a smartphone with a quad selfie camera setup in the coming months. Vivo could also use these holes to incorporate sensors but cameras are most probable.

Smartphone companies get patents for different things but not all patents came as an actual product for consumers. So, we cannot say anything clearly. Vivo could also drop plans to launch phones if setting cameras at different corners couldn’t be feasible. After having a physical design, circuit design is also important to test.
