Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has announced two new smartphones Redmi K30 5G and Redmi K30 at an event in China. Both the phones are mostly similar with the only difference in CPU.
Redmi K30 features a 6.67-inch Full HD+ 20:9 LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR 10. The display also has Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The display has a dual-punch hole at the top right corner for dual camera setup. Red claims 91% screen-to-body ratio. Redmi K30 comes with a 3D curved frosted glass body with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
Redmi K30 packs Octa-Core Snapdragon 730G processor with Adreno 618 GPU. Redmi K30 5G packs recently announced Octa-core Snapdragon 765G processor with Adreno 620 GPU. There’s also a 5mm copper tube liquid cooling to keep the temperature of the phone under control. Both the phones come in four different RAM storage models including 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. Storage is also expandable up to 512GB.
There’s a quad-camera setup having 64 megapixels primary camera with Sony IMX686 sensor, 8 megapixels 120° ultra-wide camera, 2 megapixels depth camera and 2 2megapixels macro camera. In Redmi K30 5G, the macro camera is 5megapixels and other camera sensors are the same. The camera setup offers 4K 30fps and 960 fps at 720p video recording. There’s a dual camera on the front with 20 megapixels primary selfie camera along with 2 megapixels secondary selfie camera.
Redmi K30 has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. K305G comes with 5G connectivity but K30 has 4G. Other connectivity options are Bluetooth 5, Dual-frequency (L1+L5) (K30 5G), GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC, and USB Type-C. Both the phones pack 4500mAh battery. Redmi K30 supports 27W fast charging while K30 5G supports 30W flash charge.
Redmi K30 comes in White, Blue Red, and Purple colors.
Redmi K30 will be available in China starting from December 12th. Redmi K30 5G won’t be available now and will go on sale from January 2020. The exact availability date will be confirmed soon.
