Earlier this year, there were a few reports claiming the Bytedance’s interesting in the smartphone market. Now the company has launched its first phone Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 powered by Snapdragon 855+ SoC.
For this phone, ByteDance acquired a bunch of Smartisan patents and the team. The company retained the Smartisan branding and naming scheme.
Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 is not an ordinary phone, so it also doesn’t come cheap. The phone has 6.39-inch Full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) AMOLED display. It also packs the octa-core Snapdragon 855+ processor. The phone comes in three variants including 8GB + 128GB variant, 8GB + 256GB variant and 12GB + 256GB variant.
The phone gives easy access to Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, by just swiping up on the lock screen. Users will be able to use TikTok effects and filters to videos of any length
The phone comes with a quad-camera setup that includes 48-megapixel main snapper with the Sony IMX586 sensor and an f/1.75 aperture along with a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera with a 123-degrees field of view, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and a 5-megapixel macro camera offering 2CM macro photography. It also has a 20 megapixels selfie camera.
It packs 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Wi-Fi Direct. The phone also features a 4,000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4+ (18W) fast charging technology and PD 3.0 as well.
8GB models come in Black and White color options. The 12 GB model will be available in a green-ish Matsutake color.

The phone is up for sale in China and the company is also offering CNY 200 discounts during the first sale on all the variants of the phone.
The phone has been just launched in China and the company didn’t talk about availability or its plans to bring the phone to any other country. It seems testing and if the phone gets consumers’ attention, the company will surely bring it to India, one of the key markets for Tiktok.
