Amazon has just entered another business in India. It is now into online movie ticket booking. So, Amazon customers can now use Amazon’s website and app to booking movie tickets.

For launching this feature, the company has partnered with BookMyShow. This is a five-year exclusive commercial partnership. BookMyShow is the biggest movie ticket booking website along with Paytm that came into the business 3 years ago and has also gained a considerable market share.

To encourage users, Amazon has also introduced several offers. Credit card users will get 2% cashback on each movie ticket purchase. It will also offer cashback of up to Rs 200 on each ticket purchase Until November 14.

This new feature will further boost the acceptance of Amazon Pay that has some big rivals including Paytm, PhonePe and Google Pay. If you look at Amazon’s numbers, Losses of Amazon Pay increased three times to Rs 1,160.8 crore in FY19 from Rs 334.20 crore in the previous year. Revenue also doubled to Rs 834.5 crore.

A few months back, Amazon introduced the flight booking service in partnership with Cleartrip. Amazon also has its payment service with Amazon Pay built on UPI payments infrastructure. It also lets users order foods, recharge mobile phones, pay bills and book Gas cylinder.

Earlier this week, Amazon pushed another $634 million into its India business. The fresh funds will be used to expand Amazon into a few more verticals and improving its overall services.
