Today, Facebook announced the new branding for the parent company that owns Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, and other apps. This new logo is to represent the parent company and the goal is to bring a visual distinction between the company and app.

The logo GIF sheared by the company shows different colors to represent the different brands. There’s blue for Facebook app, green for WhatsApp, pinkish gradient for Instagram, and so on.

This logo will be used on all the products Facebook owns and will replace the traditional Facebook wordmark. See the photo below to have an idea of what I was trying to say.

Facebook app and website will still have the same logo that we have seen so far.

Lucio, Facebook’s chief marketing officer told Bloomberg the company also considered charging the name of the parent company just like Google did. But then this plan was dropped because it didn’t want to appear to be hiding from its problems.

Soon you will start seeing this corporate logo on all the products Facebook owns.
