Sony Mobiles has launched its latest-mid range smartphone Sony Xperia 8 in Japan. The phone still follows old Xperia design and features a big bezel at the top.
Sony Xperia 8 comes with a 6-inch Full HD+ 21:9 Wide Full HD+ display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 6. It has a big bezel at the top for earpiece and front camera. Side and bottom bezels are thicker than all other modern phones we see. The phone is also Ip68 rated for being Waterproof and dustproof.
It packs 2.2 GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 630 14nm processor with Adreno 508 GPU. The phone comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage with an option to expand storage up to 512GB.
It has a dual camera that includes 12 megapixels primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, EIS and an 8 megapixels telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. There’s also an 8 megapixels front camera with f/2.0 aperture.
It has Sony’s High-Resolution Audio with and LDAC technology for good audio experience. The fingerprint sensor is located on the right side at the power button.
Xperia 8 has 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C connectivity options. The phone packs 2760mAh battery with fast charging support.
It is priced at 54,000 yen that is approx US$ 500. The phone will go on sale from late October. Sony has already confirmed its exit from the Indian market. So, it won’t be coming to India and nobody cares.
