Microsoft just announced the latest Surface Laptop 3. This time the company has launched two different models that come in two different sizes and different processors.

THere’s nothing much updated in terms of design. The update includes a USB-C port and the addition of a larger model. Microsoft has also made the touchpad 20 percent larger.

The smaller 13.5-inch Surface Laptop 3 comes with Intel’s latest 10th Gen Core processors, in either Core i5 or Core i7. It also gets up to 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage.

The larger 15-inch laptop packs an all-new processor co-developed with AMD. This new chip an AMD-based Surface Edition of the Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7 with an extra core on the graphics processor.

The 15-inch model is getting an AMD chip because it expects that people buying this model will perform heavier graphical work and AMD chips have an advantage over Intel’s chip in this area. So, it will offer better performance with 3D rendering applications such as Photoshop or in video editing as compared to the 13.5-inch model. It is paired with up to 32 GB RAM and up to 512GB SSD storage.

One good thing is that the SSD storage is replaceable in both the model.

Both the models come with Omnisonic speakers with Dolby Audio Premium, 720p f/2.0 HD front-facing camera and TPM chip for Enterprise-grade protection with Windows Hello face sign-in.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, 1 x USB-C, 1 x USB-A, and Surface Connect.

For both the models, Microsoft claims the battery life of up to 11.5 hours and fast charging. It can be charged up to 80% in just an hour.

The 13.5-inch model starts at $999 and the 15-inch model starts at $1199. Both are available for preorder starting today and shipping will start on October 22nd.
