We still have 2 months left in 2019 but Huawei has already shipped more than 200 million smartphones this year. The company has also confirmed that it has achieved this milestone this year 64 days earlier than the same shipment milestone last year.

From 3 million units in 2010 to more than 300 million units in less than a year, Huawei has come a long way.

It is worth to note that Huawei also suffered a lot in 2019 including the US ban that forced several US companies to stop working with Huawei. This forced Google to stop offering Google services and apps to Huawei phones. This isn’t an issue in China, but obviously a big issue for other markets. It surely affected sales. Although the ban was removed, but Huawei has already started working on its own HarmonyOS and is looking at alternative ways of offering phones without Google services.

To celebrate the 200 million sales milestone, the company will launch “Commemorative Edition” of Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G soon. This limited edition smartphone will only be available in China starting from November 1, 2019. It will come in Forest Green and Orange colors. The company has yet to confirm the price of this phone. This edition will pack 8GB of RAM and 512GB storage along with a 6.53-inch Full HD+ OLED display and HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G chipset.

In 2019, Huawei launched camera-centric smartphones that got good attention from reviewers. Huawei Pro 30 Pro is known for its 50X zoom that includes 5x optical zoom. No other brand is close to this.

The company has confirmed that the P30 lineup and Mate 20 series have outsold their predecessors. Huawei Mate 30 lineup was announced in September and is yet to drive globally. Huawei Mate 30 Pro is the best camera phone according to Dxomark with a score of 121. Pro 30 Pro is also at the 4th position.
