Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL officially announced

Google just announced its latest flagship phones Pixel 4 and Pixel 4XL at an event in New York. This time Pixel phones are more than just a camera phone. The company has included lots of features to give an amazing experience.

Both the phones have an Aluminum frame with matte finish hybrid coating and polished Gorilla Glass 5 on the back. The IP68 rating also makes these phones water and dust resistant.

Most notable feature is the new Motion Sense feature powered by Project Soli. It uses a miniature radar sensor to detect movement around your phone. So, you can perform several things on the phone without even touching it. You can skip songs, snooze alarms, dismiss timers, or silence your phone ringer using gestures.

There’s a new Recorder app that lets you record anything and save it to listen to later. The app can also transcribes speech and identifies sounds like music and applause. All this happens locally and doesn’t require internet to work. For now, it is only available in English but other languages will also be added soon.

Pixel 4 comes with 5.7-inch FHD+ OLED display with HDR support while Pixel 4 XL comes with 6.3-inch Quad-HD+ OLED panel and HDR support. Display also has Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Both Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL pack Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 with Adreno 640 GPU and 6GB RAM. Both the phones will be available in 64GB and 128GB storage options.

Camera setup is same on both the phones. There’s a dual camera setup with 12.2 megapixels primary camera with 1.7 aperture, 77° FOV, Dual PD auto focus, OIS, EIS and 16 megapixels Telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture. Camera can record 4K at 30fps. There’s also an 8 megapixels selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, 90° FOV, and 1080p 30fos video recording. NightSight has been improved and it now lets you capture shs of the night sky, the stars, and even the Milky Way

Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac 2x2MIMO (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, USB Type-C Gen 1 and NFC. Pixel 4 packs 2800 mAh battery and Pixel 4XL comes with 3700 mAh battery. Both the phones support 18W fast charging and Qi wireless charging.

Pixel 4 is priced at $799 and $899 for 64GB and 128GB variants respectively. Poxel 4XL costs $899 and $999 for 64GB and 128GB versions, respectively.
