Google’s recently launched Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL devices are in news for its brilliant camera setups. Google confirmed that astrophotography feature will be available to older Pixel phones but it also says that Dual Exposure Controls and Live HDR+ features will not.

Google says that these two features also rely on hardware along with software. This software is only available in Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. So, Dual Exposure Controls and Live HDR+ features will not be available to older Pixel phones.

Dual export feature gives photographers a chance to adjust brightness and shadows using the slider from your viewfinder. Live HDR+ shows a live preview of what your photo will look like with Google’s HDR processing.

By “low-level capabilities in the hardware,” Google is referring to the new Pixel Neural Core co-processor that has been added to new Pixel devices.

Google Pixel 4 cameras have been tested by DxoMark and Pixel 4 scored 112 for the rear camera and 92 for the selfie camera. In the overall ranking, Pixel 4 could even manage to be in the top 5 best camera phones list by DxoMark, but Pixel 4 tops the photography in real-world testing.
