Sony has just announced its latest smartphone Sony Xperia 5 at IFA 2019
Sony Xperia 5 comes with 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED HDR Display with 21:9 aspect ratio. It has BRAVIA X1 for mobile to offer bright colors. The display also has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. Unlike other flagship phones, this phone doesn’t feature a notch but a wide space for the selfie camera. The phone runs on Android 9 Pie.
Sony Xperia 5 packs Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 with Adreno 640 GPU. The phone packs 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage. Storage is also expandable up to 512GB.
The phone has a triple camera that includes 12 megapixels primary camera with Exmor RS sensor, f/1.6 aperture, Hybrid OIS/EIS along with 12 megapixels secondary 135° ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.4 aperture and 12 megapixels telephoto lens for 2x optical zoom. This setup can also record 960 fps Super slow-motion videos. It also has 8 megapixels selfie camera with Exmor RS sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and 84° wide-angle lens.
The phone is IP68 rated for water resistance. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It also has Stereo speaker with LDAC and Dolby Atmos. It supports USB Type-C audio, it means there’s no headphone jack.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ GLONASS, NFC and USB 3.1 Type-C. It packs 3140mAh Battery with Xperia Adaptive Charging technology and USB Power Delivery (USB PD) fast charging.
Sony Xperia 5 is priced £699 and will be available in different countries starting from October 2019. The company has already quit the Indian market, so Indian consumers won’t get this phone.
