Xiaomi has launched its latest budget phone Redmi 8A in the Indian market. The phone starts at Rs. 6499 and will be available starting September 27.

Redmi 8A features 6.2-inch HD+ display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It has a waterdrop note above the display and thin side bezels. The phone has a plastic back with Aura wave grip design. It is also splash resistant. The phone comes in Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, and Sunset Red colors.

It packs Octa-Core Snapdragon 439 processor with Adreno 505 GPU. The 2GB and 3GB RAM models have 32GB storage. The phone runs on MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 (Pie).

The phone has 12 megapixels rear camera with Sony IMX363 sensor and f/1.9 aperture. It also has an 8 megapixels front camera.

It supports Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C connectivity. I think this is the first budget phone to come with USB Type-C. It also packs 5000 battery with support to 18W fast charging.
