Airtel has today launched Xstream Box and Xstream Stick in India. It has also rebranded Airtel TV platform to Airtel Xstream and rolled out the refreshed user interface.
Airtel Xstream app is the refreshed Airtel TV app that rings access to 400 live TV channels, over 10,000 movies and shows. It is available on the web at Airtelxstream.in.
Airtel Xstream Box
Airtel Xstream Box is the set top box that runs on Android 9.0 Pie and comes with Google Play Store. So one can download several apps including Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and YouTube. It has built-in Chromecast, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. It also comes with a universal remote with Google Assistant-based voice search function. The remote has dedicated hotkeys for Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube
Airtel Xstream Box is priced at Rs. 3999 but Existing Airtel Digital TV customers can upgrade to the new set-top box at Rs. 2,249. The yearly subscription cost of Airtel Xstream app content is Rs. 999, Airtel Xstream Box purchase offers 1-year subscription along with the one-month subscription to an HD DTH pack.
Airtel Xstream Box will give buyers an option to choose from over 500 TV channels and content from preloaded Airtel Xstream app. The company has partnered with several OTT content partners including ZEE5, Hooq, Hoi Choi, Eros Now, HungamaPlay, ShemarooMe, Ultra, and Curiosity Stream. Along with video content, consumers will also get access to over 6 million songs from Wynk Music’s library.
Airtel Xstream Stick
Airtel Xstream Stick offers most of the things that you get in Airtel Xstream Box except the access to DTH channels. It is basically the device that brings digital streaming services and comes with preloaded Airtel Xstream app offering you content from OTT partners. It also has Google Play Store support to download apps.
It is priced at Rs. 3,999. Airtel Thanks Platinum and Gold customers get complimentary access to the content subscription plan. Other consumers will get just a month of free subscription and then they will have to pay Rs. 999 for an annual subscription.
Airtel Xstream Stick will be available exclusively via Flipkart, apart from Airtel.in. It will also be available at Airtel retail stores, as well as Croma and Vijay Sales outlets
