Xiaomi’s Redmi brand also announced Redmi Note 8 along with Redmi Note 8 Pro in an event in China.
The phone has 6.39-inch Full HD+ 19:5:9 2.5D curved glass LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The front panel also sports a notch for the selfie camera. The phone also has a Gorilla Glass 5 back. It comes in Black, Blue and White colors. It also features P2i nano-coating for being Splashproof.
Redmi Note 8 packs Octa-Core Snapdragon 665 11nm processor with Adreno 610 GPU. It comes in 6GB RAM with 64GB storage, 6GB RAM with 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage options. Storage is also expandable up to 256.
The phone has quad-camera setup that includes 48 megapixels primary camera with Sony IMX586 sensor and f/1.79 aperture. It also has 8 megapixels 120° ultra-wide-angle camera, 2 megapixels depth camera, 2 megapixels macro camera for 2cm macro photography. It also has 13 megapixels front camera.
Xiaomi claims that the speaker has been improved to offer a 40% better output compared to the predecessor and also added smart PA.
The phone has both a fingerprint sensor and an IR sensor. Connectivity options are Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS/ GLONASS/ Beidou and Micro USB. The phone packs 4000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging.
It will go on sale in China from September 17.
