Sony has introduced a new Xperia smartphone called Sony Xperia Ace in Japan. At the time when even budget phones come with thin bezels, Sony is still betting on an old looking design.

Sony Xperia Ace comes with a 5-inch Full HD+18:9 LCD Trilluminous Display. The phone runs on Android 9.0 (Pie).

It packs 2.2 GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 630 processor with Adreno 508 GPU. It packs 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Storage is also expandable up to 512GB via microSD card.

The phone has 12 megapixels rear camera with flash, f/1.8 aperture, Exmor R sensor, and Hybrid (OIS + EIS) image stabilization. It also offers 8 megapixels front camera.

The phone is IPX5 rated for being Water and Dust Resistant. It has Side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options are 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, GLONASS, and USB Type-C. It packs 2700 mAh battery.

The phone comes in Purple, Black and White colors. Dimensions measure 140 x 67 x 9.3mm and it weighs 154g.

It is priced at 48,600 yen in Japan and will be available through Japanese operator NTT Docomo starting June 1st.
