Sharp has announced a new smartphone Sharp AQUOS R3 with dual-notch design. The phone takes notch experience to a whole new level by adding two notches located at the top and bottom side of the screen.

The notch at the top is tiny to house the selfie camera and the notch at the button holds fingerprint sensor. The phone comes in Premium Black, Platinum White, Elegant Green, Pink Amethyst, and Luxury Red colors.

Sharp AQUOS R3 features a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ IGZO LCD 2.5D curved glass display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 855 with Adreno 640 GPU. It comes with 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage with an option to expand storage up to 512GB.

It has dual camera setup that includes 12.2 megapixels primary camera with f/1.7 aperture, 78° wide-angle lens, OIS and 20.1 megapixels secondary camera with f/2.4 aperture, 125° ultra-wide lens. It also features a 16.3 megapixels front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The phone also features Dolby Atmos. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with GLONASS, and USB Type-C. It packs 3200 mAh battery.

The phone will be available from early summer through all the major carriers (NTT DoCoMo, au, Softbank) in Japan. The company has yet to announce the pricing details.
