Samsung has quietly launched its latest Android Go phone Samsung galaxy A2 Core in the Indian market. Mumbai based retailer Mahesh Telecom confirmed the availability of stocks.

Renders of the phone were leaked last month. The phone looks exactly the same.

Samsung Galaxy A2 Core features a 5-inch qHD TFT display with 540 x 960 pixels resolution. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie Go edition out of the box. It is powered by 1.6GHz Octa-Core Exynos 7870 processor with Mali T830 GPU.

It has 1 GB RAM and 16GB of storage with an option to expand storage up to 256GB.

The phone features a 5 megapixels rear camera with LED flash and f/1.9 aperture. It also has 5 megapixels front camera.

Connectivity options of the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 LE and GPS. It packs 2600 mAh battery.

Mahesh Telecom confirmed the availability of stocks, that means the phone is now available from offline stores. I checked a few online stores but the phone is not available there.

It is an Android Go phone and will be competing against Xiaomi’s recently launched Redmi Go smartphone.
