Last month, two popular music streaming services Spotify and YouTube Music came to India. Within a week after launch, Spotify saw over a million users signup. To be in the fight against new rivals, Ghana and JioSaavn decide to slash prices of their annual subscription plans.

JioSaavn Pro annual subscription now costs Rs. 299 while it was originally priced at Rs. 999. That means you will be paying just Rs. 24 per month. If you go with the monthly subscription, it costs Rs. 99.

Gaana also gave users a big price cut. The annual subscription plan that was previously available for Rs. 1098, is now available for Rs. 299. The monthly Gaana Plus costs Rs. 99 and Rs. 199 for three months.

Premium subscription of JioSaavn and Gaana offer lots of advantages including offline playback, ads-free experience, exclusive content and more.

There is no information if the price cut is permanent or temporary. So, I cannot say until when this discount will be available.

If I compare the subscription plans with Spotify and YouTube Music, Spotify charges Rs. 119 per month and YouTube Music is available at Rs 99 per month. If you want a yearly plan, you will have to pay Rs. 1,189 per year on Spotify.

With the new price of the yearly plan, Gaana and JioSaavn can retain their customer for a year and will also attract lots of new customers. If you want to enjoy pro benefits of JioSaavn and Gaana, you can go and buy the yearly plan now.
