YouTube launches YouTube Music and YouTube Premium in India

YouTube has finally launched YouTube Music and YouTube Premium in India. Both services were originally introduced in June last year and are already available in seventeen countries.

YouTube Music lets you find new music on YouTube, get playlists and recommendations. It offers official songs, albums, remixes, live performances, covers, music videos and thousands of playlists

YouTube music is free with ads, but you can also get YouTube Music Premium for ad-free experience starting at Rs. 99 per month. YouTube Premium allows users to play a YouTube music video in the background while using any other app. If you are already Google Play Music subscriber, you will get YouTube Music Premium membership as part of their subscription each month

YouTube is also offering 3 months free YouTube Music Premium subscription. After the trial expires, users will be automatically charged the standard subscription price unless canceled before the end of the trial.

Google has also confirmed that YouTube Music will be available both as a mobile app and as a web app. So, you can also browse music using its website.

YouTube also launched YouTube Premium in India. YouTube Premium offers an ad-free experience of YouTube along with the ability to play in background and offline downloads. YouTube Premium users will also get all YouTube Originals.

Access to YouTube premium doesn’t require you to install any separate app, but you will get all the benefits in the YouTube app itself.

Newly launched services will join Google’s existing Google Play Music and Google Play Movies services.
