Huawei Mate X, foldable 5G Phone, coming to India later this year

Huawei has just confirmed that its first foldable and 5G smartphone Huawei Mate X will also be launched in India. While there is no exact launch date was specified, the company confirmed that the phone will be coming later this year.

Huawei Mate X was announced last month at MWC 2019. The phone has a foldable display. When it is unfolded, it offers an 8-inch OLED screen. The folded Mate X offers 6.6-inch screen on the front and 6.38-inch screen on the back.

The phone packs 7nm SoC Kirin 980 with Dual NPU. It has 8GB RAM and 512GB of storage. The phone also has Balong 5000 5G modem.

It has triple camera powered by popular camera company Leica. The setup includes 40 megapixels primary, 16 megapixels ultra-wide-angle camera and 8 megapixels telephoto camera. This camera setup becomes a selfie camera when the phone is folded.

The phone has 5G connectivity. Along with this, it offers Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, and NFC connectivity. It also packs 4500 mAh battery with support to the world’s first 55W SuperCharge.

The phone is priced at 2299 Euros for Europen markets. It turns out to be around Rs. 1,80,000. After adding some import taxes, it could be the costliest smartphone of the country. It is also worth to note that Samsung has also confirmed to launch its foldable phone Galaxy Fold in India this year.
