Xiaomi just announced its first 5G phone Mi MIX 3 5G at an event in MWC 2019. This is the 5G variant of existing Mi MIX 3 launched back in October.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G will be available starting in May 2019 but didn’t tell the exact date. It is priced at Rs. 599 Euros for the European market. Xiaomi has also partnered with several operators in Europe including 3, Orange, Sunrise, Telefonica, TIM,
The phone retails the ceramic body and slider design from the original model. SO, selfie camera is hidden inside the slider and you need to slide the back up to reveal the selfie camera.
The Mi Mix 3 has a 6.39-inch AMOLD display. The phone packs oct-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with Adreno 640 GPU. It packs6GB RAM and comes in 64GB or 128GB storage options. It also runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with MIUI 10.
The phone comes with dual camera with 12 megapixels primary IMX363 sensor ad secondary 12-megapixel telephoto Samsung S5K3M3+ sensor. The phone also has OIS, Dual Pixel auto focus, AI scene recognition and loss-less zoom. It also has 24 megapixels front camera with Sony IMX576 sensor along with 2-megapixel DOF sensor and selfie flash.
The phone has fingerprint sensor located on the back. It supports 5G Sub6, Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (4×4 MU-MIMO ), Bluetooth 5, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC, and USB Type-C connectivity.
The phone has 3800mAh battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ fast charging along with 10W wireless charging.
Availability outside of Europe is currently unknown. Xiaomi never released any of its phone in US, but India gets Mix 3 model. So, we can expect the launch of Mix 3 in India. Mix 3 5G launch will depend on the 5G availability in India.
