The foldable phone Samsung showcased back in November last year is finally here. Samsung has announced its foldable phone Samsung Galaxy Fold at an event in San Francisco. Galaxy Fold is priced at $1980. The phone will go on sale in April this and will be available in selected markets.
As we already know, the phone combines two screens in one device and is foldable. When unfolded, it offers 7.3-inch primary display and 4.6-inch secondary display.
The main display comes with QXGA+ resolution and offers 4.2:3 aspect ratio. The folded 4.6-inch display is HD+ and offers 12:9 aspect ratio.

It is powerful and comes with Qualcomm 7nm octa-core Snapdragon 855 processor with 12 GB RAM. Samsung is using 512GB of Universal Flash Storage 3.0 (eUFS) for fast speeds.
It has triple-camera on the back that can be used in both tablet and phone modes. This setup including 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera, 12 megapixels wide angle and 12 megapixels telephoto camera. The phone also has 10-megapixel front camera for selfies
Samsung has used two batteries in the phone and the total capacity is 4,380 mAh.
The phone runs on Android 9 Pie and the company has worked with Google to offer full support to this display. Galaxy Fold can run three apps at once. It also uses app continuity system to adjust these apps when you move between tablet and phone modes. Apps like WhatsApp, Microsoft Office, and YouTube have all been optimized for the new display.
The phone comes in four colours – Green, Blue, Silver and Black.
It will be sold through AT&T and T-Mobile in the US and there will be both an LTE and 5G version of the phone. Samsung is also planing Europe launch on May 3rd, starting at 2,000 euros.
