At MWC 2019, Huawei also unveiled its foldable HUAWEI Mate X. This phone features a Falcon Wing design along with a stretchable hinge for a smooth and flat finish on both sides.

Huawei Mate X has 8-inch OLED screen when unfolded. After folding it, it offers 6.6-inch screen on the front and 6.38-inch screen on the back.

The phone is powered by Huawei’s 7nm SoC Kirin 980 with Dual NPU and Balong 5000 5G modem. It has 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 512GB storage. Storage is also expandable up to 256GB with NM card. The phone runs on EMUI 9.1.1 based on Android 9 Pie.

The phone has a triple camera on the back powered by Leica. It has 40 megapixels primary camera, 16 megapixels ultra-wide-angle camera and 8 megapixels telephoto camera. When the phone is folded, it can be used for capturing selfies. So, there is only a single camera setup to use as a rear and front camera.

The phone has Hybrid dual Sims lot where secondary SIM card slot can be used for NM card.

It comes with 5G Multi-mode,Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz) (wave2), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS (L1 + L5 dual band), NFC, and USB Type-C connectivity options.

The phone comes with 4500 mAh battery and comes with the world’s first 55W HUAWEI SuperCharge fast charging technology. The company claims that the phone can be charged from 0 to 85% in 30 minutes.

This foldable phone is priced at 2299 Euros and will be available from mid-2019.
