Alienware’s new m17 is company’s thinnest and lightest 17-inch laptop ever

At CES 2019, Alienwre has updated its m17 laptop and announced it with Nvidia’s RTX 20-series laptop GPUs. Alienware m17 is the company’s lightest and thinnest 17-inch laptop ever. It weighs 2.6 kg and is 23mm thick.

The laptop has a 17.3-inch screen and comes in two display options including 1920 x 1080 60Hz panel, or a 3840 x 2160 UHD 60Hz option.

The laptop is for gaming, so packs powerful hardware. You are getting Intel’s 8th Gen Core i5-8300H, Core i7-8750H, and Core i9-8950HK processors choices. Graphics options include Nvidia’s GTX 1050 Ti or the newly announced RTX 2060, 2070 Max-Q, or 2080 Max-Q GPUs. You get up to 32GB of RAM and dual SSDs.

It also gets improved thermal management system, called Cryo-Tech 2.0 that controls the dual-intake/exhaust cooling system, heat pipes and fans.

It has updated keyboard design that now has 1.4mm travel keys. It also features Six-zone customizable lighting. It has three USB 3.0 ports, one Type-C Thunderbolt 3 port, HDMI 2.0, LAN, a Mini-DisplayPort, a headphone and microphone combo and an Alienware Graphics Amplifier port.

The laptop comes in two different battery options that are 60WHr or a 90WHr.

The new Alienware m17 starts at $1,649.99. It will hit the stores on January 21st.

With this update, Dell now targets gamers that want big screen for gaming but a portable machine.
