Nokia 8.1 with 6.18-inch PureDisplay, Dual rear cameras with ZEISS optics announced
HMD Global has just announced its new smartphone Nokia 8.1. This phone is the global version Nokia X7 launched back in October in China. The company is also expected to launch the phone in India on December 10.
Nokia 8.1 features a 6.18-inch Full HD+ PureDisplay with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It also supports HDR 10 to deliver higher contrast and good clarity. It runs on latest Android 9.0 Pie. It is powered by Octa Core Snapdragon 710 with Adreno 616 GPU. It packs 4GB RAM and 64GB. Storage is also expandable up to 400GB.
The phone features a dual camera that includes 12 megapixels primary camera with Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, 1.4μm pixels, OIS and 13 megapixels secondary camera with f/2.2 aperture, ZEISS optics. It also has 20 megapixels front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The phone can also record 4K video and supports Nokia spatial audio stereo surround sound.
The phone also has a fingerprint sensor located on the back panel. It features a single speaker design, and also comes with a smart amp, 2 mics, and Nokia Ozo surround capture.
Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS and USB Type-C. The phone packs 3500 mAh battery with support to 18W fast charging.
The phone has a 6000-series aluminum frame with glass back. The phone has a two-tone design. It comes in Blue/Silver, Steel/Copper, and Iron/Steel color options.
The phone costs 1,499 Dirham where it will be available starting December 15th.
