At the time when triple rear camera setup is not common in the majority of phones, Meitu is working on a phone with a triple camera at the front. To remind you, Honor Magic 2 has a triple camera setup but two of those are 2 megapixels depth sensors.

Meitu might be a new name for you but you will listen to this new occasionally in near future. The reason is Xiaomi that has overtaken Meitu’s hardware division. Meitu itself will continue its work on camera software.

The phone we are talking about is Meitu MP1801 that has been designed before this deal was announced. It comes with 12+20+8 MP selfie camera setup. I am not sure how does this function, but I assume that the one is the primary camera, second is wide-angle and third is the depth sensor.

The phone also has an uncommon design and a big notch. Well, it looks even bigger than the notch of Pixel 3 XL. The phone has a dual camera setup on the back with 12 megapixels primary and 8 megapixels secondary camera.

Other specs of the phone include 6.21-inch OLED display with 1080p+ resolution, 6-core processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage. It will come with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.

Meitu MP1801 could become reality soon. We have no information about the possible launch time frame. But we are keeping an eye on this phone and will report when we have more things to talk about this phone.
