Yesterday, Xiaomi posted a teaser confirming the launch of its Mi Mix 3 smartphone. The teaser claims that Mix 3 will be among the first 5G-supporting smartphones on the market.
Now a Weibo post by the company confirms the presence of 10 GB RAM in the phone. Here are the two posters.
Even if the company claims 5G support, there is no 5G-supporting chipset in the market yet. So, they need to use an external modem working alongside Snapdragon 845. Qualcomm’s X24 or X50 will work here but that will also affect battery life.
5G is also not yet available in most of the markets and won’t be there before 2020. So, Xiaomi could either just announce and launch it later when we have 5G ready chipsets or 5G is available in any market.
With futuristic connectivity, this will also be a costly phone. Few reports also claimed that Xiaomi will be using slide-out camera similar to Oppo Find X but the sliding part will be manual.
We are close to the launch as the phone will be available next week on Thursday, October 25.
