Instagram is reportedly testing a new way of browsing photos on the app. The company is testing tapping through Instagram posts as you do for Instagram Stories.

For now, the testing is being done in the Explore tab and there are no plans to bring it to the main feed yet. Users who are the part of this test can just tap on the screen in place of scrolling to bring new posts. So, this will be a quicker way to move through posts.

Double tap to like a post is still there, so you need to be careful while tapping for not post.

Instagram has also confirmed to TechCrunch that they are testing a better way to browse photos. Instagram already uses auto next feature for videos in Explore section. So the video jumps down to next when last one finishes. But you need to scroll for photos. Tapping will be an easier option here.

Instagram is testing this feature but we don’t know it will be available for all users. There have been few testing features that are still not available for all.

What do you think about the tap-to-advance feature? Let us know your views in the comments.
