Google introduces Chromecast 3 with multi-room audio support and 1080p streaming at 60 fps

Google has quietly introduced the third-generation Chromecast with an updated design and improved functions.

New Chromecast still features the same circular design with built-in HDMI cable. It ha the new smooth matte design and “G” logo and comes in Charcoal and Chalk color.

Google says that the new Chromecst is 15% faster and gets support for 1080p streaming at 60 fps. It comes with Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz/5Ghz) support but the reception has been improved with a maximum antenna gain of 4dBi compared to 2.1dBi gain in Chromecast 2.

It is also getting ability to act like a Chromecast Audio. You can also play music in synchronisation with other speakers connected to Google’s smart devices.

It is priced at $35 and will be available through Google Store starting today in.
