WhatsApp has just confirmed an app for JioPhone, running the KaiOS operating system. The App is now available on JioPhone AppStore starting today, September 10. The app supports both JioPhone and JioPhone 2.
WhatsApp for JioPhone offers the similar WhatsApp experience and allows users send and receive messages, photos, audio and videos. All the conversations will be end-to-end encrypted. It is easy to record and send voice messages with few taps on keyboard.
To get started, you need to install the app and verify the phone number to signup. Then you can start using WhatsApp as other people do on smartphones.
I have not yet tried the app on JioPhone, so I am not sure if features are limited or all the options are available. The company didn’t talk about status, location sharing or document sharing options. So, I cannot confirm if these options are available.
