It seems Twitter has finally accepted the demand of several users who have been tweeting to Twitter for getting the chronological timeline back. Today, Twitter announced that it has heard the cries of users and will bring back a form of the pure chronological timeline for users.

In a series of Tweets, Twitter said that they are working on offering an easily accessible way to switch between chronological timeline or algorithmic timeline. Twitter will start testing this option in coming weeks.

A new change in the place is Twitter’s “Show the best Tweets first” setting. If you turn it off, it will eliminate the “In case you missed it” roundups and suggested tweets from people you don’t follow. So, you will actually see tweets from people you follow in reverse chronological order.

Twitter launched the algorithmic timeline back in 2016 after it saw how successful this has been on Facebook. But Twitter struggled to boost engagement and even faced criticism of users. Now they appears to be listening. So, rejoice if you have been waiting for this.

Now if Instagram also do the same, our life will become less painful.
