OnePlus is working on its next flalgship killer OnePlus 6T that is expected to be launch by the end of this year. There have been several rumours and leaks in past talking about possible design and specs. Now a new report confirms that OnePlus 6T will feature an under-display fingerprint sensor.

The company has confirmed the presence of on-display fingerprint sensor to CNET by saying, “We unlock our phones multiple times a day, and Screen Unlock reduces the number of steps to complete the action”. CNET also posted the screenshot of lock screen that also hints the same.

OnePlus confirmed that they wanted to introduce this technology in OnePlus 5T but the technology was not mature enough to meet standards for delivering a fast and smooth experience. They delayed until it is ready.

For now, only Vivo X20 Plus UD, Vivo X21, Vivo Nex, Vivo V11 Pro and Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS feature under-display fingerprint sensor. This will be the first OnePlus device to feature the same.

Last week, the leaked retail box also confirmed the waterdrop notch and under-display fingerprint sensor. Due the presence of under-display fingerprint sensor, OnePlus 6T will be slightly thicker than OnePlus 6. Internals also had to be rearranged. The phone is expected to get slightly better camera hardware along with software optimization to make overall experience faster than OnePlus 6.

OnePlus will keep confirming features one by one until the launch. This gives the upcoming phone good media coverage and also creates buzz. It did the same with OnePlus 6 and will follow the same for OnePlus 6T for sure.
