AppleCare+ is Apple’s phone insurance service that covers accidental damage and offers 24/7 support. Now it is even better because Apple has just upgraded its AppleCare+ service and included loss and theft protection to give you a peace of mind.
It will be optional. So, you can either go with normal AppleCare+ or buy AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss. Both the packages offer up to two years of extended coverage and 24/7 tech support.
It is worth to note that AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss protection requires an iPhone to have Find My iPhone turned on to be eligible for replacement if lost.
Like other Apple products and services, it is costly. Here is the price list, Apple updated on its website.
In India, Apple has AppleCare to offer mobile phone insurance. I checked the AppleCare India page and didn’t see any change. So, I guess Apple is not yet ready to offer loss and theft protection in India.
