Uber Announces to Bring Flying Taxis in India Within Next 5 years

Uber Elevate has announced the first few cities where it will bring its flying taxis in coming years. The company has confirmed to experiment with done delivery for Uber Eats and Flying taxis as local transportation systems. Uber has promised to launch flying taxis in these cities within next 5 years.

Japan, India, Australia, Brazil and France are few countries that will get Flying taxis in first phase. In India, Uber has selected Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore cities that have high population and Flying taxis could solve the transpiration issues due to traffic. Dallas and Los Angeles were previously announced as the first two U.S. launch cities at Uber Elevate Summit in May this year. Now the company has selected international cities for the same.

The Passenger drones will enable users travel distances of 30 to 50 km at a much higher speed. Drones will have small vertical take-off and landing. It will use electric propulsion. These drones can travel between 150 and 200 miles per hour, up to 2,000 feet above the ground.

Uber Elevate

Uber Customers will be able to just push a button and get a flying taxi on demand. The company has already partnered with vehicle manufacturers, real estate developers, technology developers and more to achieve the whole setup necessary for flying taxis.

As per Indian laws, drones can be deployed in India for commercial purposes from December but within the height of 400 metres. This is lesser height than the these drones are capable of.

Uber has also saw a compelling opportunity in drone delivery system for support is food delivery business. Uber Eats is already available in several cities of India. So, it already has customers to serve. The demand has already saw growth of 6x in past 12 months Drone delivery will help in serving customers faster.
