Samsung has launched its new smartphone Samsung Galaxy A8 Star in India. The phone will be exclusively available from Amazon.in for Rs. 34990 starting August 27.

It has 3D glass back and metal frame. Dimensions measure 162.4×77.0×7.55mm and it weighs 188g.

Samsung Galaxy A8 Star features 6.28-inch FHD+ (1080×2220 pixels) FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display and it runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo). The phone is powered by Octa Core Snapdragon 660 processor with Adreno 512 GPU. It has 6GB RAM and 64GB storage with option to expand storage up to 256GB.

The phone has dual camera that includes 16 megapixels primary camera and 24 megaixels secondary camera. It also has 24 megapixels front camera. The front camera also supports Face Unlock.

It has fingerprint sensor and also supports Samsung Pay. The phone offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS with GLONASS and NFC connectivity options. It packs 3700 mAh battery with adaptive fast charging.

At this price, the phone will be competing with OnePlus 6, LG G7+ Thinq, Zenfone 5Z like high end phones. POCO F1 with Snapdragon 845 has already been launched for just Rs. 20999. Samsung will find it easy to sell this phone.
