The Mali-G76 offers 46% greater graphics processing power at 178% improved power efficiency over the previous generation.

Kirin 980 has 20 percent better bandwidth and 22 percent lower latency than the Snapdragon 845. SO, it will offer faster app launches. It also prod 22 percent higher frame rates, it

Kirin 980 also includes a Cat.21 modem the can reach up to 1.4 gigabits per second on cellular networks. It also features the fastest Wi-Fi available for smartphones offering speeds of up to 1,732Mbps. Here, it beats Snapdragon 845 that offers just 866Mbps and even third-party model allows to reach 1,083Mbps.

With dual MPU, it performs AI-assisted image recognition tasks at a rate of 4,500 images per minute. If you compare it with other processors, Snapdragon 845 reaches 2,371 and Apple’s A11 gets only 1,458.. The dual ISP of Kirin 980 is 46 percent faster at camera processing than its predecessor and offers 23 percent improvement in power efficiency while recording.

The company has also confirmed that Huawei Mate 20 will be the first phone to feature Kirin 980 SoC and it will be launched at 16th October in London.
