Optiemus has just launched two BlackBerry phones BlackBerry Evolve and BlackBerry EvolveX in India. These phones are priced at Rs. 24990 and Rs. 34990 respectively. Both the phones will be available exclusively on Amazon.in.

BlackBerry Evolve features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone is powered by 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 450 14nm processor with Adreno 506 GPU. It packs 4GB RAM and 64 GB of storage with option to expand storage up to 2TB.

It has dual camera setup that includes 13 megapixels primary and 13 megapixels secondary sensor. It also has 16 megapixels front camera with with f/2.0 aperture.

It has fingerprint sensor on the back. It offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS + GLONASS, USB 2.0 Type-C and USB OTG. It packs 4000 mAh battery with support to Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging.

BlackBerry EvolveX is slightly better. It features same 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. But it packs Octa Core Snapdragon 660 14nm processor with Adreno 512 GPU. It packs 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage with option to expand storage up to 2TB.

The phone has dual camera setup where primary camera is of 12 megapixels with dual-tone LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, Samsung S5K2L8 sensor and secondary camera is of 13 megapixels with Samsung S5K3M3 sensor, f/2.6 aperture. It also also has 16 megapixels front camera.

The phone has Dolby Atmos and fingerprint sensor. It also features 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS + GLONASS, USB 2.0 Type-C and USB OTG. It packs 4000 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging and wireless charging.

BlackBerry has not learned from its mistakes of past and the pricing strategy is way too wrong. I won’t recommend a phone with Snapdragon 450 for more than 15000 even if it gets other things right. Same goes with EvolveX.
