Opera’s Android browser will soon allow you hold your cryptocurrencies. The company is now testing a Crypto Wallet feature that lets you store crypto and ERC20 tokens in your browser. This Crypto Wallet will use your phone’s biometric security or passcode to keep your Cryptocurrency safe. You can also send and receive crypto on the fly.
This feature will make crypto payments much easier and faster. While crypto currencies are not yet acceptable at most of the places, some websites now allow crypto payment for shopping or subscription. So, this feature is also future ready when we will have crypto payment acceptable every where.
“Having a Crypto Wallet in the browser brings the cash experience to the world of online payments,” Charles Hamel, product lead on Opera Crypto, said in a press release. “Paying with the Crypto Wallet is like sending digital cash straight from your phone, and we’ve just made it easier.”
Opera’s Crypto wallet supports Ethereum Web3 API, a collection of libraries that allow developers to interact with local or remote Ethereum nodes.

After the public release of this feature, users will not have to download a separate extension to send, receive and pay in cryptocurrency or open any website. They can do these things directly from a toggle on their browsers on mobile Android devices.
