Xiaomi has just announced two new smartphones Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A in China. Redmi 6 is the success of Redmi 5 and Redmi 6A is the successor of Redmi 5A.

Xiaomi Redmi 6

Xiaomi Redmi 6 features a 5.45-inch HD+ 18:9 2.5D curved glass display and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9. The phone is powered by 2GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P22 (MT6762) 12nm processor with 650MHz IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It comes in 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage models. Storage is also expandable up to 128GB.

 

Xiaomi Redmi 6The phone has dual camera where it has 12 megapixels primary sensor and 5 megapixels secondary sensor. The phone also has 5 megapixels front camera.

It comes with both fingerprint and infrared sensor. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 5 and GPS. It has 3000 mAh battery.

Xiaomi Redmi 6A

The Redmi 6A is the entry level phone. It also features same 5.45-inch (1440 × 720 pixels) HD+ 18:9 2.5D curved glass display. Here, the processor is weaker as it packs 2GHz Quad-Core MediaTek Helio A22 12nm processor. It comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of storage with an option to expand storage up to 128GB.

Xiaomi Redmi 6A

It has 13 megapixels rear camera with LED flash and 5 megapixels front camera. The phone runs on MIUI 9 based on Android Oreo.

It has Infrared sensor, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS + GLONASS connectivity. It packs 3000 mAh battery.

  • 2GB RAM + 16GB storage – 599 Yuan

Both Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A come in Grey, Blue, Gold and Rose Gold color options. Both the phone swill be available in China starting June 15.
