Xiaomi announces its open source self-developed mobile end deep learning framework MACE

Today, Xiaomi announced its new open source AI deep learning framework MACE. The company is also inviting developers to join and take benefit from this program.

MACE is the abbreviation for Mobile AI Compute Engine that was officially released on December 2017. It is designed to optimize mobile chips. Xiaomi is currently using it on few Xiaomi devices to enhance features such as portrait mode, scene recognition, and others.

It supports heterogeneous computing acceleration (CPU/GPU/DSP), TensorFlow/Caffe model, and multiple SoCs including those from Qualcomm, MTK, and other chips

MACE has been specifically optimized for speed, power consumption, system response, Initialization delay, Memory usage and Model protection. So, the framework provides high performance, low power consumption and more to improve overall experience.
