Apple tvOS 12 Announced: Everything You Need to Know

At WWDC 2018, Apple announced the tvOS 12 with few updates and few features. It will be a free upgrade to TV users.

The tvOS 12 can detect the user’s broadband network and then automatically signs them into all the supported apps. It can securely AutoFill passwords from iPhone and iPad to Apple TV to sign in to Apple TV apps.

It already supported 4K but now Apple is also bringing support for Dolby Atmos audio. The iTunes will also have the largest collection of Dolby Amos-supported movies. With tvOS 12, Apple TV 4K will be the only streaming player supporting both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos certified. All of your movies will automatically get the Atmos upgrade for free

Apple has also confirmed that Charter Communications, the second-largest cable operator in the US, will begin offering Apple TV 4K to their customers. Apple is also working in different countries to partner with cable operators for expanding the reach of tvOS 12.

Apple also unveiled new aerial shots for Apple TV via tvOS 12. These screensavers were shot in collaboration with the International Space Station National Lab and filmed in 4K HDR by NASA astronauts.

You can also watch Live news with the TV app. There is a huge range of live sports and new coverage with over 100+ video channels available in real-time.

The Apple TV Remote will be automatically added to Control Center on iPhone or iPad. So, you can have quick access to Apple TV controls on your iOS device.

You will also be able to use Home control systems like Control4, Crestron and Savant to control Apple TV. You can also use Siri voice search and control for Apple TV after tvOS 12 update.

The new tvOS 12 update will be available in the fall. It will come to Apple TV 4K and Apple TV 4th generation.
